The Now Platform is the core technology layer that empowers everything at ServiceNow, from our best-in-class SaaS offerings to our partner and developer ecosystem and as a standalone PaaS offering. The Data Product team is a critical part of the Now Platform with a very broad scope. We own ServiceNow’s core relational database, time series and analytic databases, search engines, data processing pipeline, tools for customers to manage data, automated services for internal and customer workflows, and ServiceNow’s public/private cloud strategy and roadmap. As ServiceNow continues to aggressively grow and innovate in AI, Data, Infrastructure and Workflows, we are looking for an experienced product leader to lead a team of product managers across these areas. This is a unique opportunity to shape and execute the next-generation data and product strategy for a $100B+ company.

As the Senior Director of Product Management, you will report to the Vice President of Data Product & Strategy, and lead a cross-functional team comprising Design, Engineering, and Product Management leaders to deliver on our strategic roadmap. You will be responsible for driving innovation and developing a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends to identify new product opportunities. Your role will include managing and prioritizing product roadmap and backlogs based on customer needs, market opportunities, and technical feasibility, and providing leadership to product leaders and teams in these areas. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of product platforms, enterprise software products and relational and non-relational database environments, extensive leadership experience, and a proven track record of driving successful product strategies and roadmaps across multiple domains.

This role spans several product areas that enable the success of our customers:
• Core Database and Machine-Scale Data Pipeline: You will lead the team that is responsible for launching new platform and application services at scale including our new core database and data processing services for our end customers and business unit partners.
• Data Management: You will drive the development of new data management tools to give all customers visibility into their data estate and options to manage data and storage efficiently. You will also define and execute product strategies to deliver value-added solutions to customers with more sophisticated data management needs.
• Automations: You will lead the development of our core automations which power important processes for internal teams and end customers. You will also be a thought leader as we design the next generation of automations to deliver more scale, reliability, and ease of use.
• Public/Private Cloud Strategy: You will be a thought partner to the product team responsible for development and execution of ServiceNow’s product roadmap and strategy with key public and private cloud partners. This will include ensuring value-added “better together” solutions and infrastructure options to customers that provide stability, scalability, and security.

Job Description

What you get to do in this role:
• The ServiceNow Relational and Non-Relational Data Team is responsible for all aspects of ServiceNow’s database infrastructure and services, as well as automations of frequent processes such as cloning, moving, and provisioning instances, and delivery of data management tools to give customers more visibility and control of their data estate. We are looking for a leader to take us to the next level of data scale, performance and reliability with our next-gen HTAP database, and by reinventing how our automations are architected and run. This is a very strategic position for our company. As a Sr. Director of Product Management, you will be in a position to build the best team possible, lead innovation, influence product direction, define architecture and ensure quality of product.
• As a Sr. Director of Product Management, you will be responsible for leading a team of Product Managers in the ideation, defining, designing and development of next generation database, data management and automation services. You will lead by example on solving tough technical challenges and complex business problems in a high energy, startup like environment with experienced industry leaders and with a highly collaborative team.
• This role will require you to interface with various internal departments, understand their business needs and deliver highly reliable and easy to use solutions that enhances business efficiency. The successful candidate will have an established background in defining product and roadmap focusing on bottom-line and top-line, developing mission critical software solutions, a strong technical ability, excellent project management and communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.


To be successful in this role you have:
• 15+ years of experience in product management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of enterprise software products and services, including relational and non-relational data services, SaaS, and PaaS.
• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong technical knowledge and the ability to work closely with world-class engineering partners to devise strategies, solve for complex system interdependencies, and build performant and scalable solutions to serve internal and customer-facing applications.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to translate customer needs into product requirements.
• Strong people development and leadership skills; able to manage extended or virtual teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and build consensus across different teams and stakeholders. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt quickly to change.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.


For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $237,800 – $416,200, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
