ServiceNow CMDB Developer (Contract Position)
Number of Positions: 1 Duration: 11 months
Location: Toronto, ON, CA
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Hybrid 3+d/w if in Toronto or Winnipeg
Remote may be considered for the right candidates, but must work either Toronto or Winnipeg hours
Roles and responsibilities:
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow Developer with deep expertise in IT Operations Management (ITOM), Discovery, Service Mapping, and CMDB implementation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust ServiceNow solutions that enhance visibility, automation, and governance across our IT infrastructure.
CMDB & ITOM Implementation
• Design, implement, and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) aligned with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
• Ensure CI data integrity, compliance, and governance standards.
• Implement advanced CMDB features including Agent Client Collector (ACC) and CMDB Health Dashboards.
Discovery & Service Mapping
• Configure and optimize ServiceNow Discovery to identify and maintain Configuration Items (CIs).
• Develop and customize Service Mapping for application and infrastructure components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex discovery and mapping issues.
Integration & Development
• Build and optimize integrations using REST, SOAP, and APIs for systems like AD, MID Servers, and cloud environments.
• Develop custom discovery patterns, workflows, and automation solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable ServiceNow features.
Agile & Documentation
• Work within a Scrum-based Agile framework.
• Document configurations, customizations, and integrations comprehensively.
Must have skills/experience/qualifications:
• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
• Strong knowledge of CMDB lifecycle, ITOM modules, and CSDM framework.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting, and workflow development.
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure and cloud discovery tools (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
Certifications:
One or more of the followings
• Certified Implementation Specialist – Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM)
• Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery
• Certified Implementation Specialist – Service Mapping
• ServiceNow System Administrator Certification
• Completion of relevant ServiceNow training such as:
o CMDB Fundamentals
o Discovery Fundamentals
o Service Mapping Fundamentals
o MID Server Essentials
o CMDB Health Micro-Certification Simulator
