Our client is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Admin/Consultant to guide a critical platform stabilization and upgrade effort. This role requires someone who can balance hands‑on configuration/development, functional leadership, and strategic decision‑making. You will partner closely with stakeholders to evaluate what was built, determine what is truly needed, and lead the effort to upgrade from our current version to the latest recommended release.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the ServiceNow upgrade from the current version to the latest recommended release, ensuring stability and minimal disruption.
• Conduct a top‑to‑bottom assessment of the existing implementation, including:
• Customizations
• Intake request forms
• Routing and approval flows
• Security setup
• Overall architecture and configuration decisions
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve efficiency across the platform.
• Drive conversations with business and technical stakeholders to align on requirements, priorities, and rationalization of features.
• Provide hands‑on configuration and development, especially around approval flows, routing logic, and platform configurations.
• Mentor and guide the existing ServiceNow Administrator, helping elevate their technical depth and platform understanding.
• Establish best practices for governance, change management, and ongoing platform maintenance.
• Serve as a platform leader, ensuring ServiceNow evolves in a scalable, maintainable direction.
Qualifications
• 5–10 years of ServiceNow experience across both functional and technical domains.
• Proven experience leading ServiceNow upgrades, stabilization efforts, and post‑go‑live remediation.
• Strong understanding of: ServiceNow architecture, Customization vs. configuration tradeoffs, Workflow/approval design, and Security roles and access models
• Ability to challenge requirements constructively and guide stakeholders toward best‑practice solutions.
• Experience mentoring junior team members or administrators.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive decisions and influence outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
Ideal Candidate
You’re a seasoned ServiceNow professional who has seen what happens when a platform is over‑customized or rushed to go‑live — and you know how to fix it. You’re comfortable stepping into a complex environment, assessing what’s working and what isn’t, and leading the charge toward a cleaner, more maintainable, more scalable ServiceNow ecosystem.
