Role Overview
The ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture (EA) Expert will be responsible for implementing and configuring the ServiceNow EA module to enable enterprise-wide application rationalization, capability mapping, and technology optimization. The role requires hands-on expertise in ServiceNow EA, CMDB, and Workflow Data Fabric (WDF), with a strong focus on mapping business capabilities, applications, technology debt, risk, and value.
This role works closely with the Enterprise Architecture team, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and platform architects within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to deliver a data-driven EA foundation integrated with ITSM, ITOM, Discovery, and Now Assist.
Key Responsibilities
• Configure and customize the ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture (EA) module to support enterprise capability and application modeling.
• Design and implement capability-to-application, application-to-technology, and application-to-service mappings using one-to-many and many-to-many relationships.
• Integrate EA data with CMDB, ensuring alignment with CSDM and accurate configuration item relationships.
• Enable application rationalization by modeling:
• Business value
• Technical debt
• Risk (operational, security, compliance)
• Cost and complexity
• Configure application scorecards and dashboards to support consolidation, modernization, and investment decisions.
• Use Workflow Data Fabric (WDF) to automate data ingestion, enrichment, and synchronization across EA, CMDB, and external systems.
• Leverage Discovery and ITOM data to enrich technology and infrastructure views within EA.
• Collaborate with ITSM teams to ensure EA insights inform operational and service design decisions.
• Work with stakeholders to define and enforce EA data standards, taxonomies, and governance.
• Support Agile ceremonies including PI planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
• Produce clear documentation and communicate architectural insights to both technical and business stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
• Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture (EA) module.
• Deep expertise in ServiceNow CMDB and CSDM alignment.
• Experience implementing Workflow Data Fabric (WDF) for data integration and automation.
• Proven experience in capability mapping, application rationalization, and technology portfolio management.
• Strong understanding of technology debt, risk assessment, and value modeling.
• Experience integrating EA with ITSM, ITOM, and Discovery.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience working in Scaled Agile (SAFe) environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• ServiceNow EA and/or CMDB certifications
• Experience in large-scale enterprise transformations
• Exposure to Now Assist for insights, analytics, or decision support
