ServiceNow Developer L3 Job Description (Workflow Studio)

Overview: The ServiceNow L3 Developer is responsible for advanced development, configuration, and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform. Minimum of 8+ years of experience in ServiceNow development with a focus on complex projects and integrations. This role involves leading complex projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the platform meets the evolving needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Essential Skill: Utilize Workflow Studio to design and manage playbooks, flows, sub flows, actions, data streams, and decision tables within a unified interface.

Advanced Development and Customization: Lead the development and customization of ServiceNow applications.

Complex Workflow Automation: Design and implement complex automated workflows and processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Integration Management: Oversee the integration of ServiceNow with other enterprise systems using web services, APIs, and other integration tools.

Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.

Troubleshooting and Optimization: Analyze and resolve advanced technical issues related to ServiceNow applications and integrations and optimize system performance.

Documentation and Standards: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications. Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver tailored ServiceNow solutions.

Performance Monitoring and Enhancement: Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement performance enhancements.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ServiceNow development with a focus on complex projects and integrations.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript, Flow Designer, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Transform Maps, Workflows, REST APIs, Integration Hub spokes etc.

Working Experience with ITSM Pro products e.g., Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence and Performance Analytics.

Certifications: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer and ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist certifications are required. Additional certifications in ITIL, ITSM, or related areas are highly desirable.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to learning and development.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and Asset Management.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools.

Experience with ServiceNow workspaces including UI Builder.

Experience with ServiceNow Now Assist products.
