Randstad is seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow CMDB Engineer for a premier client based in Washington, D.C. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the technical architect and guardian of our configuration ecosystem, driving the design, implementation, and optimization of a robust Configuration Management Database (CMDB). You will bridge the gap between IT Operations Management (ITOM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM), leveraging expertise in Service Mapping, HAM, and SAM to ensure 100% data accuracy and operational visibility. By mapping critical service dependencies and integrating asset lifecycles, you will directly enhance the resilience and strategic decision-making capabilities of a major enterprise environment in the nation’s capital.

responsibilities:
Architect & Optimize: Lead the end-to-end design and maintenance of the ServiceNow CMDB health, hierarchy, and relationship mapping.

Service Mapping: Build and refine complex Service Maps to provide visibility into business-critical applications and infrastructure dependencies.

Lifecycle Integration: Align Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) workflows with the CMDB to track assets from procurement to disposal.

ITOM Excellence: Configure and manage ServiceNow Discovery and Event Management to automate data ingestion and maintain real-time configuration accuracy.

Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce configuration management policies, performing regular audits to remediate data gaps and “orphan” CIs.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams in D.C. to align CMDB strategies with broader IT service management (ITSM) and security goals.

qualifications:
ServiceNow Expertise: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow, specifically within the ITOM and ITAM modules.

Technical Proficiency: Proven track record in Service Mapping, Discovery, and CSDM (Common Service Data Model) implementation.

Asset Management Mastery: Deep understanding of HAM and SAM Pro, including license reclamation and lifecycle automation.

Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to translate complex business requirements into technical configuration requirements.

Location: Ability to work on-site or in a hybrid capacity with our client in Washington, D.C.

Certifications: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in Discovery, Service Mapping, or Asset Management is highly preferred.
