Service Now Tech Lead

We are seeking a seasoned ServiceNow HAM/SAM Implementation Specialist to lead the end-to-end deployment of Hardware and Software Asset Management solutions for a state government client. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience designing and implementing ITAM processes using ServiceNow with minimal customization and a strong understanding of public sector compliance, data standards, and asset lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end implementation of HAM and SAM modules within the ServiceNow platform.

Design and document scalable, sustainable asset lifecycle processes, emphasizing out-of-the-box configurations.

Collaborate closely with state IT leadership, procurement teams, and developers to align technical delivery with business needs.

Facilitate workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, demos, and stakeholder interviews.

Configure platform capabilities to support discovery, normalization, reconciliation, license management, and reporting.

Guide data cleansing and migration efforts, ensuring accurate mapping and integration.

Develop and execute test plans, validation procedures, and go-live strategies.

Train internal teams and ensure knowledge transfer on HAM/SAM best practices.

Ensure all implementations adhere to compliance standards, licensing agreements, and audit controls.

Mentor and support the implementation team.

Provide post-go-live support and recommend process optimizations.

Drive meetings between Product Owners and ServiceNow Dev teams, capture decisions

Share end-of-sprint demos and collect stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement.

Jump in wherever needed across planning, testing, documentation, or stakeholder coordination to drive execution.

Qualifications

Minimum 7+ years of ServiceNow ITAM (HAM/SAM) implementation experience, preferably in government or highly regulated sectors.

Demonstrated experience with at least the end-to-end implementations of HAM and/or SAM.

Proven ability to deliver solutions with minimal customization, maximizing native platform capabilities.

Strong expertise in asset lifecycle management, licensing models, and data governance.

Ability to produce clear documentation: process maps, configuration guides, functional specs.

Excellent communication and facilitation skills across technical and business audiences.
