Senior ServiceNow Developer

Design, develop, and implement solutions on the ServiceNow platform, leveraging expertise in ServiceNow development, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, architect solutions, and deliver high-quality applications that meet OIG’s business needs and objectives.


Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions on the ServiceNow platform. Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions that align with OIG’s objectives and adhere to best practices and architectural standards.

Develop custom applications, modules, and integrations on the ServiceNow platform using technologies such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Glide APIs. Customize existing ServiceNow applications to meet specific business requirements, ensuring optimal performance and usability.

Provide technical support and guidance to development teams, including mentoring junior developers and reviewing code to ensure quality and adherence to best practices. Stay updated on emerging ServiceNow features, technologies, and best practices, and recommend their adoption where appropriate.

Integrate ServiceNow with other systems and applications within the HHS ecosystem, as well as external partners, using web services, REST APIs, and middleware solutions. Implement data management strategies, including data migration, transformation, and governance, to ensure data integrity and security.

Develop and execute test plans and test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of ServiceNow solutions, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and bugs identified during testing and production deployment.

Collaborate with DevOps and release management teams to package, deploy, and manage ServiceNow applications and configurations across development, testing, and production environments. Implement and automate deployment pipelines and release processes to streamline software delivery and ensure consistency and reliability.

Document technical designs, development activities, and configuration changes in accordance with best practices and organizational standards. Share knowledge and expertise with other team members through training sessions, workshops, and documentation to foster continuous learning and improvement.

Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and other IT teams to gather requirements, provide updates on development progress, and solicit feedback on solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between ServiceNow solutions and broader organizational goals and initiatives.

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a ServiceNow developer, with a focus on custom application development and platform customization.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and ServiceNow development technologies (e.g., Glide API, Service Portal).
• Experience with ServiceNow integration technologies and methods, including web services, REST APIs, and middleware solutions.
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in ServiceNow applications and configurations.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) are preferred.
