Role: Senior ServiceNow Developer
Work location : 181 Queen Street, Ottawa, ON, Canada, K1P 1K9 (Hybrid)
Duration: 05+ months + possible extensions
Typical Tasks:
• Confers with product team members and clients regularly to identify digital needs and determines how the desired results can be achieved.
• Analyzes existing systems and applications and develops or recommends new systems or modifications to existing systems.
• Reviews and analyzes system specifications to determine whether all required elements have been included.
• Consults with business analysts and clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
• Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, systems environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
• Applies best practices of ServiceNow platform standards and adheres to standards and approved programming techniques to achieve the most effective solutions.
• Modifies existing applications to conform to system changes or to make improvements in the existing application.
• Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
• Develops test plans ensuring that unit, system, integration and user acceptance plans are complete and understood by developers and users.
• Support and use the various methodologies such as the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Activities & Deliverables:
• Design/Development/Configuration of ServiceNow including new modules, applications, and integrations with 3rd party systems and support the ERP project teams.
• Design, develop/configure, test, demo and deliver the solution features in sprints.
• Provide technical assessments and create technical documentation.
• Ensuring alignment to out-of-the-box functionality when building custom solution on ServiceNow.
• Providing interface guidance and oversight to ensure common practices are used.
• Helping to define common development & release processes.
• Capture/review business and functional requirements in the form of user stories, use cases and process flowcharts engaging with business partners.
• Investigating suitability of ServiceNow components and modules to satisfy requirements.
• Developing high level architectural concepts and transfer knowledge and coaching to employees.
• Rapid prototyping and Proof of Concept delivery using the ServiceNow platform.
• Configure the integration using experience gained in various ServiceNow integrations using web services, B2B tools, MID servers, REST, SOAP, Data Sources, LDAP servers and import set.
Mandatory Qualifications:
• Must have 7+ years of recent ServiceNow platform development experience.
• Must have 10+ years of recent experience in IT Business Application Development/Configuration.
• Located in the National Capital Region (Ottawa) and available to work hybrid.
• Have a ServiceNow Certificate (e.g. ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.)
• Have a College Diploma or University Degree in an IT discipline or related.
Assets/Preferences:
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of system and integration development methodologies and practices.
• Experience with ERP domain (Finance and HR).
• Experience with ServiceNow HR module and custom onboarding solution.
• Experience with Microsoft DevOps.
• Recent experience working in an agile team/mindset.
• Bilingual in English and French considered a huge asset.
• Public sector work experience preferred.
