Hardware Asset Manager

job summary:
A Hardware Asset Manager is needed for an American defense, aviation, information technology, and biomedical research company in the Washington, DC area. An experienced Hardware Asset Manager is needed to oversee the lifecycle, compliance, and accurate tracking of IT hardware assets using ServiceNow HAM Pro within DOJ environments, requiring on-site presence and cross-functional collaboration.

responsibilities:
• Update and maintain asset records in ServiceNow (HAM Pro).
• Conduct audits and reconciliations to ensure asset data accuracy.
• Coordinate with procurement, IT, and logistics teams for asset tracking.
• Ensure compliance with asset policies and recommend process improvements.
• Generate reports/dashboards for audits and decision support.
• Maintain documentation and knowledge base for asset management processes.
• Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Oversee timely data entry and physical asset tagging.
• Provide asset information for incident/change management processes.
• Support inventory control and hardware refresh/surplus handling.
• Train stakeholders on ServiceNow asset functions and best practices.

Experience:
• 3-5 years of hardware asset management experience.
• 2+ years using ServiceNow (especially HAM Pro).
• Knowledge of IT asset lifecycle processes, preferably in government settings.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices.
