Job Title:ServiceNow Senior Developer onsite role (relocation is fine)

Location: Franklin, Tennessee

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Senior Developer and deep hands-on expertise in the ServiceNow platform. The Senior Developer will lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules, ensuring scalable, secure, and best-practice implementations.

This role requires strong technical leadership, close collaboration with business stakeholders, mentoring of junior developers, and ownership of end-to-end delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Platform & Solution Development
• Lead the design and development of custom ServiceNow solutions including Catalog Items, Record Producers, Order Guides, Forms, Flows, and Integrations.
• Architect and implement complex Flow Designer workflows, approvals, notifications, routing logic, and Decision Tables.
• Develop and maintain custom Service Portals, including complex pages, UI components, custom widgets, and responsive UX designs.
• Create and optimize dashboards, reports, and performance analytics for operational and executive reporting.
• Design and implement client scripts, server-side scripts, Script Includes, Business Rules, and UI Policies following best practices.

Technical Leadership & Governance
• Oversee ServiceNow development activities to ensure compliance with best practices, security, performance, and governance standards.
• Guide architectural decisions related to platform customization vs. configuration.
• Review and approve technical designs and code developed by junior/offshore developers.
• Ensure consistent use of naming conventions, update set practices, and documentation standards.
• Identify and proactively address technical debt, performance issues, and platform risks. Change, Release & Testing
• Manage update set strategy and oversee promotion across environments (DEV → TEST → UAT → PROD).
• Coordinate with QA and business teams for UAT support, defect resolution, and release readiness.
• Implement and support automated testing tools and regression testing strategies.
• Perform and oversee unit, integration, and regression testing to ensure high-quality releases. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Service Catalog Managers, and Process Owners to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Act as a technical point of contact for onshore/offshore teams and third-party vendors.
• Coordinate with ServiceNow vendors and support teams on product issues, upgrades, and patches.
• Provide demos, walkthroughs, and solution presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Platform Knowledge & Continuous Improvement
• Maintain deep and current knowledge of ServiceNow releases, upgrades, new features, and roadmap capabilities.
• Lead and support platform upgrades, implementing new functionalities where beneficial.
• Recommend process improvements and platform enhancements to maximize ServiceNow ROI.

Documentation, Training & Mentorship
• Create and maintain technical documentation for forms, workflows, flows, integrations, custom applications, and configurations.
• Contribute to knowledge bases and Confluence documentation.
• Conduct training sessions and knowledge transfer for administrators, developers, and business users.
• Mentor junior developers and citizen developers, providing guidance on design, development, and troubleshooting.
