Required Skills & Experience
• 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow CMDB experience (flexible on years; strong mid‑level candidates will be considered).
• Deep understanding of CMDB architecture, data modeling, CI relationships, service mapping principles, and governance best practices.
• Experience working within a mature ServiceNow environment with established processes, large datasets, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business‑friendly language for non‑technical audiences—and communicate business requirements back to technical teams.
• Strong advisory and consultative skillset; able to guide teams, influence decision‑making, and recommend improvements without direct authority.
• Proven ability to analyze CMDB issues—such as CI duplication, data quality gaps, broken relationships, stale attributes, or discovery misconfigurations—and deliver actionable solutions

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Architect and maintain the CMDB structure, including CI classes, attributes, and relationships
• Lead the implementation of CMDB solutions, design data discovery processes, governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Work with stakeholders across IT teams (infrastructure, applications, service mgt) to align the CMDB with business and IT needs
• Provide architectural thought leadership, mentor other team members, and troubleshoot application issues
• Lead CMDB data modeling and normalization efforts across the enterprise
• Advise on CMDB strategy, assess current state, and lead steering committee meetings to review major changes
• Collaborate with ITSM process owners to ensure CMDB supports all ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, etc.)
• Integrate CMDB with discovery tools and other data sources to automate CI population and updates
• Monitor CMDB health and data quality metrics; drive remediation plans for gaps and inaccuracies
• Provide technical leadership for CMDB-related projects and enhancements
• Develop and deliver training and documentation for CMDB stakeholders
• Serve as SME for CMDB audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments
• Partner with vendors and internal teams to optimize CMDB integrations and performance
• Support ServiceNow platform upgrades and feature adoption related to CMDB
