Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – ServiceNow, Application Infrastructure

Duration: 1- Year Contract

Location: Montreal, QC

Hybrid Role: (Day 1 onsite onboarding; in-office presence 3x per week)

Role Overview:

The Application Infrastructure (AI) department is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to drive reliability engineering, operations, and customer support services for a large-scale ServiceNow SaaS implementation. This role reports to the Site Reliability Engineering & Operations Lead and involves delivering a range of SRE practices within a global team to ensure reliable, resilient systems with minimal operational overhead.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver improvements to maximize system availability and performance through automation, operational tool development, problem management, and architecture reviews.
• Troubleshoot ServiceNow issues and occasional on-premise capabilities in a Linux environment, collaborating to identify root causes and implement lasting solutions.
• Implement observability practices, including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting, to measure and maintain target reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation with global team (time-off in lieu system provided).
• Understand and document ServiceNow instances and related dependencies.
• Identify and prioritize technical debt impacting client satisfaction or operational efficiency.
• Provide feedback on policies and procedures to enhance safety and efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum 7+ years of experience.
• Expertise in at least one of the following:
• Software development (e.g., Python)
• ServiceNow administration or development
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships and collaborate within a team.
• Dependable and committed to client service.
• Ability to respond appropriately during technical emergencies (e.g., outages).
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.

Desired Skills:
• ServiceNow administration or development experience (can be acquired on the job with training).
