We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Platform Architect to lead the design, governance, and optimization of enterprise-level ServiceNow solutions across multi-tenant environments. This role requires a seasoned professional who can bridge strategic platform architecture with hands-on governance leadership, ensuring our ServiceNow ecosystem delivers scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that align with organizational objectives and federal compliance requirements.
Location: Primarily Remote with onsite meetings in Washington, DC Metropolitan Area
Clearance: Must have an Active Public Trust at a minimum
Key Responsibilities
– Platform Architecture & Governance Leadership
• Architect enterprise ServiceNow solutions across HRSD, ITSM, ITOM, and CSM modules, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and regulatory compliance (FedRAMP, FISMA)
• Lead platform governance frameworks, chairing Change Advisory Boards (CAB) and establishing enterprise-wide governance standards and best practices
• Design and implement multi-tenant architecture strategies with domain separation for complex environments supporting 10,000+ users
• Develop comprehensive technical roadmaps for ServiceNow platform evolution, identifying optimization opportunities and capability expansion
• Create and maintain architectural documentation including solution designs, data models, integration patterns, and governance charters
– DevOps & Implementation Excellence
• Establish and enforce DevOps standards including version control, peer review protocols, and CI/CD pipeline design for ServiceNow environments
• Lead technical design sessions with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, governed ServiceNow solutions
• Oversee implementation of complex workflows, business rules, and automation while ensuring compliance with platform governance standards
• Conduct platform assessments and develop remediation plans for technical debt and performance optimization
• Drive adoption of emerging ServiceNow technologies including AI/ML capabilities, predictive intelligence, and advanced automation
– Integration & Automation Strategy
• Design and implement secure integration solutions using REST/SOAP APIs, MID servers, and Integration Hub across enterprise systems
• Develop automation strategies leveraging Flow Designer, Orchestration, and process automation capabilities
• Architect complex multi-system integration patterns supporting both real-time and batch processing requirements
• Ensure seamless data flow between ServiceNow and external systems while maintaining data integrity and security compliance
Stakeholder Management & Team Leadership
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and manage cross-functional collaboration
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to development teams and administrators
• Lead sprint planning, project timelines, and stakeholder communications using Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Author and maintain comprehensive platform documentation, SOPs, and onboarding guides for development teams
Required Qualifications
– Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 8 years of enterprise IT experience with at least 6 years focused on ServiceNow architecture and governance
• Proven track record of leading large-scale ServiceNow implementations (10,000+ users) with multi-tenant/domain separation experience
• Demonstrated experience in platform governance leadership, including CAB management and DevOps standards implementation
• Must be able to travel to Washington, DC area for onsite meetings as required
– Technical Skills
• Expert-level knowledge in ServiceNow HRSD and ITSM modules with implementation experience across 3+ additional ServiceNow product suites
• Extensive experience with ServiceNow platform governance, domain separation, and multi-tenant architecture design
• Proven expertise in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipeline design, version control, and peer review processes for ServiceNow environments
• Demonstrated expertise in ServiceNow integration methods including REST, SOAP, MID Server, and Import Sets
• Proficiency in Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and ServiceNow automation frameworks
• Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and program management in enterprise ServiceNow environments
• Knowledge of ITIL v4 framework and its implementation within ServiceNow
• Experience with ServiceNow platform upgrades, performance tuning, and capacity planning
– Compliance & Security Experience
• Proven experience supporting FedRAMP, FISMA, or other federal compliance requirements
• Understanding of ServiceNow GCC (Government Community Cloud) environments
• Experience with security policies implementation and audit compliance
– Required Certifications
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) –
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (HRSD or ITSM) –
• ITIL 4 Foundation – Preferred
• PMP or equivalent project management certification – Preferred
– Highly Desired Certifications
• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Master Architect certification
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• TOGAF or other enterprise architecture certification

Technical Competencies
• Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics and reporting capabilities
• Knowledge of ServiceNow Service Portal and Employee Center development
• Familiarity with ATF (Automated Test Framework) and instance management strategies
• Understanding of cloud architectures (AWS, Azure) and their integration with ServiceNow
• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and CMDB best practices
• Experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM)
